A Jungle Lodge that started as a dream and a vision, has pioneered the concept of homely living in a Jungle, where you are not treated just as a guest but much more. Service in Chitvan is what you will remember for a long time, even after you have forgotten your safaris in Kanha. Ideally lcoated just 4kms from Mukki gate of Kanha, the drive to Mukki is also through the forest and some small village settlements. Having seen and stayed in many other Lodges worldwide this is one place you will remember for location, food, service, concept, organic farms, and local community development. Rated among the top 25 smal Hotels in India for two consecutive years, and also has an OUTSTANDING rating by TOFT (Tour Operators for Tigers). There are two categories of accommodation, one is the simple cottages overlooking the Maikal hills, and other are the palatial Suites. Chitvan is one place where the time will fly, and you will depart with a heavy heart wishing to have stayed longer.
Baghvan is the product of two words. While Bagh means Tiger, Van is Hindi of Forest, hence Baghvan is the Forest of the Tiger– forest). This alluring Jungle Lodge is located just on the boundary of Pench National Park, a dry deciduous forest of predominantly teak trees and meandering jungle streams. Pioneer is introducing Pench on the world map as far as tourism is considered. This Lodge merges perfectly well in the wooded landscape of Pench. Staying here gives you a feel of being in the Forest itself. You are woken up by the chirping of birds on your window, and if you happen to open the door early morning, or sit by the bay-window you might be able to catch the graxing deers in the Lodge, or hear an alarm call as well once in a while. Located just 5 minutes drive from the Turia gate, Baghvan is a good mix of wild and human touch. Started as a very humble resort with just 10 cottages in the year 2000, this is one resort which is buzzing with action. Compelled to be 34 cottages over the years by the ever increasing demand for rooms by their regular guests who go spoiled by their hospitality, food, and a never say no attitude. This resort is today a brand in itself, which has redefined service standards in wildlife hospitality. Lush green and clean campus is always inviting to be explored. It is tough to stay indoors while at Tiger's Den. The regular guests are hardly in their rooms, you will always find them talking to the team members of Tiger' Den. The staff ably led by Gyanendra Tiwari, and supported by Jagat their head naturalist, Harish, Mukesh, Ved, and Manish are always smiling and eager to serve you. The delicious food is prepared by Veerbhan and his team. The best part about Tiger's Den is their team. Most of the team members are present from the time when the first brick was laid. In the evening do make it a point to attend the slide show by Jagat on Bandhavgarh

The Courtyard House is a perfectly done homestay by a pioneer, Neelesh Agarwal. He initially owned and operated Krishna Jungle Resort, and then decided to start another nouvelle concept in Kanha. Peaceful location just behind the Kanha National Park, it is a small hamlet which has everything you want in a remote place like Kanha. Very big rooms, and equally big bathrooms, massive windows overlooking the farming fields and the distant forest. You will not be bored by the constant chirping of the many species of birds who have also made Courtyard House their home. The multiple dining locations will provide you different views, and a unique experience, be it on the terrace, or next to the pool, overlooking the forest or in your own private courtyard. Just six rooms, and few staff to make it very comfortable. Being an old hand in this Neelesh, has organised the operations and safaris very meticulously. Minimal staff invasion in your space, and maximum output seems to be the focus. My personal compliments to Neelesh for such a wonderful set up.
Wanting to experience a true Tented Camp Accommodation in Kanha National Park, it has to be Shergarh. Very well maintained, and operated by Jehan, Katie and team, this is one accommodation which has minimum carbon and water footprint on the environment. I have seen this camp grow over the years, from almost a farming area to a forested land, Jehan has let the nature take over. Just 6 tents, very sweetly appointed with all comforts, a cozy dining area with adjoining library for you to go over some books during your free time in between safaris. Personal care by Jehan and Katie is the key in this Camp. Naturalists by passion, profession, time spent with them is very enriching. Not only have they done good to the Camp but their personal interactions with the local community has earned them tremendous respect in the area.
The Samode Safari Lodge, rated among the Top 10 Safaris in the World, among the top 50 destinations for HOneymoon worldwide by the Telegraph, ranked No 1 on trip advisor, and located in Bandhavgarh National Park, which is perhaps the best place in the world to see the Wild Tigers. Yes, there are Tigers in many other national parks, but there is something about Bandhavgarh and Samode Safari Lodge that will make you come back to this place again and again. 12 independent luxurious villas spread out in a sprawling tranquil surroundings will make you wish that this was your home lifelong. Many menu and venue options in the camp will surprise you. A Spa which will pamper every muscle and bone of yours, you wish you could take the Spa home. Samode Safari Lodge is surely a small piece of paradise in Bandhavgarh National Park which is worth every penny of yours.
Reni Pani Lodge in Satpura National Park is a pleasant surprise. If you are true wildlife lover, then this is your kind of Lodge. Certain unique issues here are the activities they organise. The battery of their naturalists keeps you buys from dawn till dusk, infact beyond dusk as well, as they organise the night safaris which are legally permitted in the buffer zone of Satpura. Just 12 beautifully designed and located cottages, there is something for everyone here. For someone seeking seclusion there are two cottages atop a hillock, for a family there is an interconnecting cottage. What amazed me here was the delicious food prepared by the Chefs here. There cookies are something to die for. The naturalists sit with you over the meals, answer your questions regarding wildlife or Satpura. Best part if Aly Rashid, the owner, and a friend now, who's energy is visible in this vibrant place. They also have camera traps to observe the wildlife coming in their camp, i was happy to be shown the pugmarks of the Leopard who visited the camp in the night.
