Kawal Wildlife SanctuaryTotal Coverage Area: 893 sq. km/ 89,300 ha
Established in: 1964 as a sanctuary
Location: In Adilabad district and is a t a distance of 50 km. from Mancherila and 250 km. form Hyderabad.

Description:
Kawal Wildlife sanctuary is ideal to see ungulates and a diverse range of birds. The area is hilly and undulating. Altitude ranges from 150-600m.

Visiting Season:
November - March

Access:
By Air: Closest airport is Hyderabad (260 kms)
By Rail: The closest railway station is 50km. from Kawal - Mancherial Railway Station
By Road: At about 260 km. by road from Hyderabad, it is easily reachable by State owned bus services.

Kawal Wildlife SanctuaryTemperature:
Climate is generally hot and dry except during the South-West monsoons in the months of June-September.

Accommodation and facilities:
Accommodation is available at Forest Guesthouse at Jannaram, Adilabad district.

Wildlife

Flora:It is mainly covered with tropical dry deciduous forests. There are terminalia and bombax species also.
Mammals Leopard , sambar, blackbuck, chital, chowsingha, gaur, nilgai, muntjac
