Surrounded by beautifully landscaped gardens and lush Yellow mustard fields, named after the old royal hunting lodge, which now lies in ruins deep within the sanctuary, Kadam-Kunj seeks to recreate the royal magic and hospitality of a bygone era.

The main building houses a fully-equipped convention centre with conference facilities that can seat up to 200 people; along with our air-conditioned window restaurant, Jhalak, that serves delicious Indian, continental and Chinese food. The building seamlessly flows into four residential villas, set of four sides on an open-air octagonal corridor. Each villa consists four independent rooms with, all modern amenities. About Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary

Bharatpur Wildlife Sanctuary is open throughout the year, still the ideal visiting months are from August-November for resident breeding birds and October- February for migrant birds. There are well-defined forest trails, which can easily be covered on foot or on a cycle or you can also hire a rickshaw that are available on hire. An early morning boat trip or a late evening one is quite a rewarding experience to check out the hidden surprises of Bharatpur. There are varieties of storks and cranes and the local sarus crane is elegant in a livery of grey and red. Every year Bharatpur waits with coated breath for the arrival of the Siberian cranes. There are only two wintering places for this rare species -one in Iran and the other Bharatpur and these beautiful birds with their distinctive red beaks and facial patches, fly over 6400 km from their summer retreats in Siberia, to get to them. In 1996, there was great jubilation as a couple of Siberian cranes with a young one made an appearance in Bharatpur after a lapse of three years. The forests around the lake at Bharatpur harbor the sambar, chital, nilgai, jackal, hyena, fox, mongoose and porcupine. Occasionally, a fishing cat can be seen scooping its prey also commonly seen sunning themselves along edge of the paths or at Python Point.
