Bandhavgarh has been a center of human activity and settlement for over 2000 years, and there are references to it in the ancient books, the Narad-Panch Ratra and the Shiva Purana.

The oldest sign of habitation in the park are caves dug into the sandstone to the north of the fort. Several contain Brahmi inscriptions dating from the 1st century B.C. Various dynasties have ruled the fort, for example, the Maghas from the 1st century A.D., the Vakatakas from the 3rd century A.D., From that time onwards Bandhavgarh was ruled by a succession of dynasties including the Chandela Kings Bandhavgarh became more and more deserted until forest overran the area band it became the royal hunting reserve.

At independence Bandhavgarh remained the private property of the Maharaja until he gave it to the state for the formation of the National Park in 1968. After the park was created poaching and hunting was brought under control and the number of animals rose dramatically. The Tigers in particular prospered and the 1986 extension provided much needed forest to accommodate them. Overnight at the lodge.

Morning jeep safari to the Bandhavgarh National Park. After lunch, drive to Kanha national park 280 kms/ 6-hour drive. On arrival check – in at the lodge. Dinner and overnight at the lodge in Kanha.

Kanha is tribal country, and a perfect example of man-animal co-existence. This was the first park from when a village was moved out from the core area of the forest and relocated outside. Subsequently, many other villages were shifted out to give more inviolate space to the tigers. The graceful tribals accepted the generous compensation packages thus creating a haven for tigers in Kanha and it became a win-win situation for tribals and tigers both. Dinner and overnight stay at the resort.

Kanha is a flagship national park of India when it comes to successful conservation stories. Hard Ground Barasingha was brought back from the brink of extinction in this very park. The number in 80s were just 60, today they are over 800 roaming freely in the park. Kanha has also assisted in repopulating the Indian Gaur population in Bandhavgarh where they were last seen in 1997. Today over 300 Indian Gaur are present in Bandhavgarh.

Tigers of Kanha are known to walk on vehicle tracks. If you are fortunate, you will have a head on sighting of tigers here. Once they get on the track, they will walk for long enough to give you ample opportunities to take some nice images of them. Kanha tigers are known for their exceptional head size, neck girth, and tall at shoulders. They are also quite bold and undeterred by the tourist vehicles.

Morning Jeep safari in the park. After lunch drive to Raipur airport 220 kms/4hrs drive to board a flight at 1850 hrs, arriving in New Delhi at 2025 hrs. Morning and afternoon safari at the park. Corbett has aptly been described as the land of the Roar, Trumpet and Song. It represents a scene of remarkable beauty.

Corbett had the proud distinction of being the chosen venue for the inauguration of Project Tiger in India. The rich biodiversity of the Reserve is partly attributed to the variety of habitat found here. Due to the location of the Reserve in the foothills of the central Himalayas, both Himalayan and peninsular flora and fauna is found in the Reserve. Dinner and overnight at the Forest Rest House.

Morning and afternoon safaris in Dhikala zone of Corbett. The variety of wildlife, and landscapes in Corbett is unparalleled not only in India, but it can be easily said to be amongst the top 3 national parks in the world. Trip Advisor chose Corbett to be the 2nd most popular park in the world.

Tigers of Corbett have a dark orange coat that make them very attractive. Male tigers in Corbett are rarely seen, and would occasionally snarl on seeing a tourist vehicle. Tigresses of Corbett are the prettiest in the entire country. Some of them have become bold and do not hesitate to come out with their young cubs.

The terrain of Corbett is a mix of dense woodlands, open grasslands, river beds. While moving from one forest type to another one needs to change the camera settings often so as not to overexpose images. The light in different backdrops is quite different and dramatic. Seeing tigers in these different backdrops in one jungle is unique.

Corbett is also a great place to photograph birds. It is common to see some raptors perched on trees next to the Ramganga river waiting for their food. One can commonly see Pallas’s Fishing Eagle, Lesser Fishing Eagle, Changeable Hawk Eagle, Crested Kingfishers on the tress next to the riverbed.

Morning safari, breakfast and checkout from the Forest Rest House. Do not pack your camera equipment, as you will most likely encounter some wildlife before you exit from the park. Transferred to New Delhi, 275 kms, 5-hour drive. Met on arrival and check in. Overnight at hotel in Delhi.

After breakfast transfer to international airport to board flight back home or onward destinations.

Hello Sharad, it is so good to hear that you & your family are all well. The same is true for us. We really enjoyed our snow leopard trip. Deepkul was a terrific guide. All the others did fine jobs as well. Of course, we would like to have seen the snow leopard closer but that is nature. We have no control but we were happy to just see one in the wild. Take care, Chris

Amazing trip with Sanjay into Bhandavgarh. I had an amazing time in Bandhavgarh National Park. The safari company was incredibly accommodating and Ishana was very helpful. My driver, Sanjay, was absolutely phenomenal. Always on time and, as a fellow bird enthusiast, always on the lookout and ready to stop at a moments notice for every bird. The tiger sightings were a dream come true and rhe sheer volume of animals in the park was incredible. Definitely recommend using this company. And highly recommend requesting Sanjay if you are visiting Bandhavgarh.

I came to India for a business trip and spontaneously decided to do a tiger safari over the weekend. The Tiger Safari India team immediately came back to me with different great options and organized the 4-day tour to Ranthambhore national park directly for the upcoming weekend. The whole tour was very well organized - great driver, good hotel, very experienced safari tour guides - and I felt very comfortable during the whole journey. I definitely recommend to visit the Ranthambore national park. Within 4 safari tours I spotted 5 tigers and could enjoy the beautiful flora and fauna. Thank you very much Tiger Safari Team for this amazing tour and experience!!!

Truly magical tree house and safari in Bhandavgarh Awesome holiday! We wanted to do something unique for our daughters 18th birthday. Deepkul was extremely helpful in planning a perfect trip. The best part was the unique tree house and bush dinner that simply turned out to be truly magical. Sanjay safari guide was excellent, prompt and knowledgeable and pulled out his little book promptly to share more details on the wildlife we saw. He brought in Manjith as our guide on the last day who was also extremely experienced. We spotted the entire family- Tigress and her playful 4 cubs. A magnificient experience. Also timely and safe travel by Gulab in Jabalpur. I am really thankful to Deepkul for the well planned holiday, memories that will be forever cherished.
