Tadoba Tiger Reserve is a rare jungle jewel amongst India’s leading tiger reserves and national parks. It is affably called the Land of the Tigers, due to its high tiger density. In general, the park offers plenty of opportunities for close encounters of the wildlife kind which also include: Leopard, Sloth Bear, Gaur (Indian Bison), Rusty Spotted Cat, Ratel, Indian Mouse Deer, Spotted Deer, Sambar, Wild Pig, Four Horned Antelope, Flying Squirrel, and more. Over 195 species of birds include the crested serpent eagle, honey buzzard, paradise flycatcher, grey-headed fishing eagle, the shy jungle fowl, and much more. Overnight at the Lodge.

Densely forested hills form the northern and western boundary of the tiger reserve. The elevation of the hills ranges from 200 m (660 ft) to350 m (1,150 ft). To the southwest is the 120 ha (300 acres) Tadoba lake which acts as a buffer between the park’s forest and the extensive farmland which extends up to Irai water reservoir.

This lake is a perennial water source which offers good habitat for Muggar crocodiles to thrive. Other wetland areas within the reserve include the Kolsa lake and Andhari river. Tadoba reserve covers the Chimur Hills, and the Andhari sanctuary covers Moharli and Kolsa ranges. It’s bounded on the northern and the western side by densely forested hills. Thick forests are relieved by smooth meadows and deep valleys as the terrain slopes from north to south. Cliffs, talus and caves provide refuge for several animals. The two forested rectangles are formed of Tadoba and Andhari range. The south part of the park is less hilly.

Morning jeep safari to the national park and after lunch depart for Pench, 250kms, 5-hour drive. On arrival check into the Lodge. Dinner and overnight at the Lodge.

A total of 758 Sq. kms of this Southern Indian tropical moist deciduous forest has its extent mingling with the tropical dry deciduous teak. The area is crisscrossed by a number of streams and ‘nallahs’ most of which are seasonal. Though the Pench River dries up in April end, a number of water pools locally known as ‘dohs’ are found which serve as water holes for the wild animals. The Pench Reservoir at the center of the park is the only major water source during the pinch period.

As a prey concentration is high along the Pench River, tiger usually inhabits and frequents this belt. Leopards though generally operate in the peripheral areas but are occasionally seen in the deep forest also. Jungle cats are commonly seen. Leopard cats, small Indian civets and palm civets are seen rarely.

Hello Sharad, it is so good to hear that you & your family are all well. The same is true for us. We really enjoyed our snow leopard trip. Deepkul was a terrific guide. All the others did fine jobs as well. Of course, we would like to have seen the snow leopard closer but that is nature. We have no control but we were happy to just see one in the wild. Take care, Chris

Amazing trip with Sanjay into Bhandavgarh. I had an amazing time in Bandhavgarh National Park. The safari company was incredibly accommodating and Ishana was very helpful. My driver, Sanjay, was absolutely phenomenal. Always on time and, as a fellow bird enthusiast, always on the lookout and ready to stop at a moments notice for every bird. The tiger sightings were a dream come true and rhe sheer volume of animals in the park was incredible. Definitely recommend using this company. And highly recommend requesting Sanjay if you are visiting Bandhavgarh.

I came to India for a business trip and spontaneously decided to do a tiger safari over the weekend. The Tiger Safari India team immediately came back to me with different great options and organized the 4-day tour to Ranthambhore national park directly for the upcoming weekend. The whole tour was very well organized - great driver, good hotel, very experienced safari tour guides - and I felt very comfortable during the whole journey. I definitely recommend to visit the Ranthambore national park. Within 4 safari tours I spotted 5 tigers and could enjoy the beautiful flora and fauna. Thank you very much Tiger Safari Team for this amazing tour and experience!!!

Truly magical tree house and safari in Bhandavgarh Awesome holiday! We wanted to do something unique for our daughters 18th birthday. Deepkul was extremely helpful in planning a perfect trip. The best part was the unique tree house and bush dinner that simply turned out to be truly magical. Sanjay safari guide was excellent, prompt and knowledgeable and pulled out his little book promptly to share more details on the wildlife we saw. He brought in Manjith as our guide on the last day who was also extremely experienced. We spotted the entire family- Tigress and her playful 4 cubs. A magnificient experience. Also timely and safe travel by Gulab in Jabalpur. I am really thankful to Deepkul for the well planned holiday, memories that will be forever cherished.
