Our seventh holiday trip with nature Safari India and it will not be the last! We first booked with nature Safari India in 2010. Since then we have been back so many times and this year, 2024, was our seventh trip. There were 3 Covid years when no one could travel otherwise it would have been more. Every trip is planned meticulously with input from us on dates, lodges, parks. We end up with a trip that works like clockwork. From the moment we arrive at Delhi airport and are met by either Deepkul or Abhishek we know we are in safe hands. Off we go to the Holiday Inn which we really like for an overnight stay and a meal in the Italian Restaurant there and then an early flight in the morning and our adventure starts. This time we sated ourselves with visiting four of our favourite National Parks and did we see tigers? Yes we did plus wild dogs, leopards and so much more. Even a sloth bear sighting too. We are looked after so well and nothing is left to chance. From the moment we land till we wave goodbye to come home we are so well looked after and if we need to contact NSI then they are only a mobile call away which is reassuring. We are from the UK and have recommended this company to so many people. Indeed this year the family of one of our oldest friends came with their young children and NSI looked after them so well. We also usually are fortunate to meet Sharad Vats who is now a personal friend who owns the company and spend some time with him. His photos are amazing as you will see on the website plus some from guests like us. If you want to visit India then NSI is the company to use. They will add cultural visits in as well and we had an amazing trip in 2023 to Gujarat to see wild asses, striped hyenas and wolves before flying down to see our beloved tigers.

Like an African safari experience...but less expensive In 2019 when my wildlife photographer husband told me he booked a trip back to India, I was not excited. Although our first experience was interesting, it had no "vacation" aspects. He promised this trip would be different. No one would describe me as a princess but certainly there are little things to make an expedition different than a vacation. Thanks to Nature Safaris India, this trip gave me a whole different feeling about traveling to India and why I can easily recommend it to others--if you book it with an operator like this one. Our trip was scheduled for late March 2020 and luckily borders closed before we began our trip. Booking with an Indian-based company, I never thought our prepaid trip would be honored---let alone all the way until 2024 (due to visa issues). NSI kept in regular touch with us, were flexible and accommodating at every level. Their recommendations both for wildlife and lodging were perfect. Granted, this trip was booked at more expensive places than our prior trip but well worth it--the bit of higher level equated to accommodations with amenities like views, decks/balconies, even a pool, far better service, superb food, AND better guides, vehicles and drivers. Having Deepkul of NSI available on WhatsApp was an added bonus to reassure things like the lodge office will be printing your boarding pass for your next flight. It was nice to see that more than 50% of the 'tourists' at the park were people from India--understanding that appreciation from within will ensure longer term conservation efforts. The foreign tourists we met were all well-traveled and most had done safaris elsewhere. Although every destination has its own experiences, the itinerary set up for us by NSI felt more like an African safari experience (but less expensive) --a) meaning the lodges were set up in ways to experience the natural surroundings whether you were on safari or chilling on your deck. b) the level of service was superb yet subtle c) the food was delicious, plentiful and a great variety each day. We did 4 different destinations within India over about 2 weeks--3-4 nights in each lodge. Each experience was wonderfully unique. Travelers need to have "it's about the journey" attitude to experience India's wildlife as extended drives and additional flights are part of the plan--but NSI makes it all comfortable and seamless.

Bucket List To India ! Feb ‘24 What an amazing and memorable holiday we had with Nature Safari India . As 2 girls travelling for the first time to India, we were a bit apprehensive about safety and logistics. However, on arrival Siddharth met us and looked after us from then until 22 days later when he waved us goodbye! The whole trip ran like clockwork from when we made the booking and Sharad tailored our itinerary to our specifications, in spite of several additions from us! From then our flights, transport, guides and hotels all happened so smoothly and efficiently. We especially want to thank Siddharth who went above and beyond his job description and was an amazing “sorter outerer” ( as well as being a dapper dresser!) All of our wonderful drivers, especially Ashok - who, in an informative and entertaining way, drove us around the Golden Triangle. Manesh, for being a fabulous guide in Kanha where we had amazing tiger viewings. His knowledge of the game we saw was incredible and he was amazing fun to be with. John, our guide in the Punjab, who gave us, as well as the usual tourist sights, a tailor made gastronomic tour of culinary delights. (Best food in India!) If you want to get the best out of your trip to India, Nature Safari India will ensure you do! Ali & Hils

Was tailored to our need. Was on a golden triangle and safari tour with Nature Safari India and highly recommend this company. The planning process and recommendations were individualized to our liking. Each step of the way was well executed, and the staff affiliated with Nature Safari, India is highly specialized and professional. We spent the few days in New Delhi with Parveen as a driver and guide and couldn’t recommend him more. He had great knowledge and was very professional. Also, at each safari destination, we were assigned drivers that were as good as our tour guides from the national forest service. Sunjay in Kahna and Atul in Bandhavgarh were is super specialized and personable. All aspects of this tour went well, and I highly recommend them.

Fantastic Service Enjoyed a wonderful holiday arranged by Nature Safaris. Fantastic service from start to finish. We were extremely well looked after from the start as Protim met us from our international flight at Delhi. The whole trip ran smoothly and the transfers were very comfortable. All the team involved in our holiday deserve a big “thank you” and we would certainly use this company again. Bandhavgarh National Park is beautiful and although we struggled to see the elusive Tiger close up, we did have 4 sightings across 8 drives. I know other groups had a bit more luck than us so we will return one day.

Experience of a lifetime with Nature Sarari India! If you want to visit India don't look any further than Nature Safari India! From start to finish this company goes beyond anything that you would expect. Their website is great at showing you what they do and what you can expect. Their communication is unbelievable. No email went unanswered, no question felt like an imposition. I often felt that I was their only client even though I know they are working with many! Their attention to detail is impeccable and no request is too big or too small. Once in India the service didn't stop! Everyone was professional and friendly and someone was always available to help which is even more important as a solo traveler. The places I stayed were better than I had hoped for and the staff at each place were helpful and accommodating. And then the game drives! All I can say is WOW! The Naturalists/Guides that I had seemed to know their parks -- and their tigers -- personally! I had hoped to see a tiger or two but almost every day brought another sighting and another adventure. Do yourself a favor. If you're thinking about a tiger safari, and even if you're not, start by checking out Nature Safari India!

Thank you making India trip such a memorable tour This has been our first time visiting India and thanks to "Nature Safari India" it will not be the last time! This company operates very professionally and from the first contact until we left India we have been accompanied by them. After arrival at Delhi Airport their representatives picked us up and dropped for the stay-over at the hotel, managed the check-in. Next exactly at the appointment time we have been picked up by the driver ... and so on. Even on our tour end we have been picked up by them and guided from domestic to international terminal India. Everything has been very professional!

Excellent 4th Trip with Nature Safari This is the 4th time we have travelled with Nature Safari as a couple with an individual program agreed together for our wants and needs. The team headed by Shared Vats are very professional, quick to reply and when things do not go quite right ( beyond their planning) are quick to respond and rectify the matter. We loved every minute in India as a result and with their excellent guides and safari drivers we had yet another memorable tour starting from Jaipur to Bandhavgarh, with special mention to Sanjay Gupta our driver guide in Bandhavgarh, who always seemed to get us in the right place at the right time. His knowledge of not only the Tigers, but everything the beautiful Indian forest beholds. What more can I say about this company. Already planning next year’s trip. Cheers Monica & Ken Winstanley

Safaris and Beyond,

your pathway to trans-sensory travel...

There are over 600 national parks in India which are home to close to 200 endangered mammal species. The Royal Bengal Tiger is one of the flagship species as not only is it the apex predator of the very forests that thrive here, but it is also the biggest cat among its brothers.

Recently conducted, the latest Tiger census saw a substantial increase of about 22% in the big cat population. While this is attributed to the commendable effort of the people involved in conservation, this feat is also credited to the resilience and adaptability of the Royal Bengal Tiger throughout the entire Indian subtropical eco-system.

National Parks in India vary with varying tropics and landscapes. We have the dry deciduous forest of Ranthambore National Park in the western part of India, while the evergreen Sal forest of Kanha National Park thrives in Central India. Corbett National Park is unique as it rests in the foothills of the Great Himalayan Range, making it an awe-stunning frame to capture. India has some of the most biodiverse lands, making it a hotspot for wildlife and tiger safaris and nature enthusiasts.

It is also important to note that Wildlife Tourism in India has played a key role in the conservation of important flora and fauna in our national parks. The flow of money into local communities because of tourism-related activities, has considerably reduced the pressure on the forests for bio-mass. This development has allowed the resurgence of wildlife within national parks of India, which in turn allows visitors to immerse in complete wilderness experiences as animals go about their extraordinary lives. Mentioned below are some of the most enthralling national parks for wildlife and tiger safaris in India, that invite eco enthusiasts from around the globe.

Frequently Asked Questions

There are 7 other countries besides India where the Tigers roam free. But India with a population of 3000+ tigers has about three-fourth of world’s wild tigers roaming in 50 tiger reserves. The sheer number of tigers in India increases the chances of sighting them substantially. Out of the 50 tiger reserves you have excellent chances of sighting tigers in atleast 15 of them.

The top 3 national parks for tiger safari in India are Corbett National Park, Bandhavgarh National Park and Ranthambore National Park. To read a detailed review of the three, please read our blog on the Top 3 National Parks for Tiger Safaris in India. These we mention keeping in mind the consistency of tiger sightings over last 30 years.

Yes, jeeps are safe for a tiger safari in India. The only point of understanding is that the jeep and its occupants must at all times maintain a safe distance from the wildlife around. If you hinder their space or peace, they might not like it and in turn leave the area. Always remember that you are in their territory and it is only basic courtesy to not disturb them. Do not get off your safari vehicle to click photos, do not feed them, and do not ask the driver/guide/naturalist to speed up to chase wildlife around. These are basic rules and any form of disobedience is strictly punishable.

The temperature in Indian jungles experiences fluctuations throughout the day. During the scorching summer months of April and May, it can climb to a peak of 45 degrees Celsius, but it cools down to a pleasant 25 degrees Celsius in the evenings. In the winter season, from December to February, the mornings can be quite chilly, with temperatures dropping to as low as 0-5 degrees Celsius, but the days become comfortably warmer, ranging between 15-20 degrees Celsius. If you’re interested in learning more about tiger safaris in India and how these temperature changes can impact your experience, click here to read further.
