Overview:
This tiger safari in India is the perfect setting for any wildlife enthusiast. It comes with a story to tell, a story that won Sir Rudyard Kipling his Nobel prize – The Jungle Book. Pench and Kanha have been home to the characters of the jungle book and Bandhavgarh only adds to the tour’s historic enigma, with the Bandhavgarh Fort. Once you take this tiger safari, you are sure to relive the resonating roar of Sher Khan, the hissing of Kaa, and the quiet presence of Bagheera.
Bandhavgarh National Park has made its presence in books on Indian Culture: Ramayana, Upnishad’s and more. There have been mentions of the origins of its name (Bandhavgarh – ‘Bandhu’ meaning brother in Hindi and ‘Garh’ meaning Fort). It was named after the Bandhavgarh Fort which was gifted by Lord Rama to his younger brother Laxmana.
As a park for tiger safari in India, Bandhavgarh is one place where a sighting is nothing but obvious. You are considered unlucky if you visit Bandhavgarh and still don’t see a tiger. It is one of the few parks in India with one of the highest tiger densities.
Kanha on the other hand is a bigger park with some of the biggest tigers India has ever seen. They look enigmatic and are even more beautiful to photograph. Other than Tigers, Kanha is also home to the jewel of Central India, the Hard Ground Barasingha. It has recovered from nearing extinction and is now found in abundance across Central India.
Kanha National Park is one park that has been time and again rewarded for its conservation efforts. So not only the Barasingha, but it has also helped its sister parks with depleting populations of the Bison and even the Royal Bengal Tiger. It has successfully translocated tigers across parks and helped renew the big cat population. Unlike any other national park in the country, Kanha is also said to be the most well-managed national park in terms of tourism.

Overview:
As the name suggests, this itinerary is the perfect amalgamation of the very best of Indian wildlife and cultural destinations within the country.
For wildlife: This itinerary includes the best parks for tiger safaris in India along with other wildlife viewings – Corbett National Park, Ranthambore National Park, Pench National Park, Bandhavgarh National Park, and Kanha National Park. While Ranthambore and Corbett are the gems of Indian wildlife in North and west India, one can say that the latter three are the founding stones of wildlife in Central India.
Read about the Top 5 Safari zones in Corbett National Park.
Corbett, a park known for intense wildlife diversity, is surrounded by the Ramganga river on one side and the Himalayan Foothills on the other. It is most commonly known as the land of the roar, trumpet, and song since it is home to Bengal Tigers, Asian Elephants, and the chirps of more than 350 species of birds.
It is named after the famous hunter-turned-photographer, wildlife author, and conservationist, Sir James Edward Corbett. It is a landscape where one can easily spend a lifetime and still stand in awe of its beauty. Due to the reserve’s locations, both Himalayan and peninsular flora and fauna are found there.
The advantage of being in a place like Corbett is that you can stay within the jungle in a forest rest house. This is the Dhikala Forest Rest House, a 100-year-old rest house that has been used by several wildlife enthusiasts and conservationists in the past. It is now a favourite among wildlife photographers and people who wish to experience true wilderness.
Ranthambore on the other hand is a park in the western state of Rajasthan. A dry deciduous forest, Ranthambore is a land where the royalty of the Bengal tiger and the maharajas, give you an experience of a lifetime. Tigers in Ranthambore have a distinctive feature about them – a mane around their head that tigers in other states do not seem to possess. It makes them look bigger and some even argue that Tigers in Ranthambore are actually bigger than those in Kanha.
For Culture: A crowd favorite, Ranthambore national park lies bang in the middle of the famous Golden Triangle. The sector encompasses some of the most renowned cultural and heritage destinations like Agra, Jaipur, and New Delhi. It is perfect for both wildlife and cultural fanatics.
Jaipur, the pink city of India and home to the Rajputana descendants, is surrounded by forts and palaces.
This city along with Agra is a perfect detour for architecturally inclined souls. The Taj Mahal in Agra was an ode of love from the late emperor, Shah Jehan for his beloved wife, Mumtaz Mahal. It took 22,000 architects and a medley of Persian, Muslim, Hindu, Iranian, and European architecture, successfully make its mark in one of the seven wonders of the world.
