PHOTOGRAPHIC EXPERIENCE OF A LIFETIME! (Tigers and bears, Oh My!)
In a world where too many species are already extinct, this Tiger Safari is a must-do. We got up close to many species and got excellent photographs. We saw sloth bears, Indian gaurs, mongoose, a barrel of monkeys, peacocks, thousands of deer, macaques, leopards, beautiful birds, wild chickens, wild elephants, and, of course, WILD BENGAL TIGERS…lots of them!! Traveling in India (Hindi spoken) might have been challenging/intimidating were it not for the step-by-step hand-holding of Sharad, Deepkul, and Abishek. They shepherded us thru every challenge without a worry. I have never seen customer service and intimate personal care of this level anywhere else in the world. Thank you so much, Tiger Safari India.

In Feb 23 we finally set forth for our Indian Tiger Safari adventures, 7 years in the planning and delayed for 3 years by Covid. We combined our safaris with Indian sights, including some that focussed on family history in Indore, Delhi, Shimla, visited major Indian sights – Delhi, Shimla, Jaipur, Indore, Maheshwar, all put together beautifully by Sharad Vats. We got our feel for yesteryear and the British Raj when we stayed in an old palace in Shimla, The Woodville Palace Hotel, in a Haveli (an old mansion house) in Jaipur, and in a former palace with a current prince in residence at Ahilya Fort. We also stayed in regular hotels, generally 4 star. We visited many historical monuments and sights, visited the Taj Mahal (with amazing guide called Khizar who is both very knowledgeable about the Taj and Agra Fort and also a wizz on iPhone photography including “trick” photography. For these locations, he knows all the tricks and places and poses for “professional” pictures of you all with your mobile phone camera. You hardly need to take photos yourself), we walked through markets, made woodblock prints in Jaipur, hiked a mountain in Shimla and at loads of nice food.
Our tiger safaris were the absolute highlight of our trip and we visited three National Parks – Jim Corbett National Park (5 safaris) , Bandhavgarh National Park (7 safaris) and Kanha National Park (5 safaris). An original itinerary for 2020 had us doing shared jeep safaris, and on Sharad’s advice, we changed and undertook all safaris on an exclusive basis, which was so much better. Each park gave us several fantastic tiger sightings including “our own tiger” on several occasions and these “own tiger” sightings were aided by the incredible skills and knowledge of our drivers and guides – Vijay and Pervej in Corbett, Ajeet in Bandhavgarh, and Mahish in Kanha. They know the names of all the birds and animals, and they know just where to look for the tigers, and pointed them out when we couldn’t see them!
The national parks are spectacular, with awesome sunrises and sunsets and you are removed from the hustle and bustle and crowds and traffic of daily Indian life, to experience space, animals and birds and the natural environment in a peaceful way. Each park was different in its own way, and we saw all of the common animals – tigers, many types of deer, sloth bears including with babies, jackals and pups, wild dogs, elephants, many many birds including peacocks galore. I think the only animal we didn’t see was a leopard.
The planning for this trip began prior to Nature Safari’s visibility on Trip Advisor, and resulted from a pot luck internet search which sounded interesting. Sharad replied very quickly to my first email and it all began from there – Sharad was happy to accommodate anything we wanted to do, rearrange the itinerary and so on, and was always quick to answer emails, answer questions and provide information. When we finally arrived, we were met at the airport by Deepkul and a driver, and had drivers and guides with us the whole time we were in India, making everything hassle free and all the arrangements seamless. Deepkul maintained contact with us via Whats App and phone, providing driver and guide details to us for our new locations. All drivers were professional and safe drivers in the midst of what we saw as mayhem on the roads, helpful, and the cars air conditioned and immaculate with “supplies” of snacks, water and soft drinks, and Wifi!! They stopped when required, took us to nice clean roadside restaurants with generally clean bathroom facilities and western toilets. Some of the drives were incredibly long, but this really helped us cope with them.
If I had to say our favourite place – I would say Corbett and Dhikala lodge, it was where we saw our first tiger, and the location of the lodge within the National Park is great, and it is very beautiful overlooking the river. Its a very rustic lodge, vegetarian only, and sometimes the power goes out (take a torch), but we loved it none the less.

What an adventure!
We wanted to explore the nature of India and Tiger Safari India did an excellent job organizing the trip for us. We went to Corbett, Kanha, and Bandhavgarh National Parks. We also spent 2 days visiting Taj Mahal.
Tiger Safari India arranged our lodging, transfers, domestic flights, and local guides. We didn’t have to worry about this part of our travel. The drivers who drove us to different destinations were friendly and safe drivers. The 3 National Parks that were recommended were beyond our expectations. The park drivers and guides worked very well together to show us the amazing wildlife at each park. We saw tigers at every park we went to and that was the biggest highlight of our trip. The local guide at Taj Mahal was knowledgeable and enthusiastic.
We highly recommend Tiger Safari India. We appreciate that they shared their knowledge and gave us input on places to explore. They answered questions promptly and worked with us on planning a great trip.

Hope this email finds you well. I wanted to take this opportunity to share with you how wonderful our experience was in India and with Nature Safari India. Thanks to you and your wonderful staff we could not have been more pleased with how everything turned out.
It was so wonderful having Abhishek first greet us at the airport. He has a warm and welcoming approach and ensured everything went smoothly and that we knew our plans. A very nice touch to have him (and Deepkul too) there each time we arrived back in Delhi to see a friendly face. Always eager to know we were having a great experience and willing to accommodate anything we needed. Logistically the trip was very smooth which is not taken for granted with travel.
All of the accommodations that we stayed at on the trip were fabulous! The staff and service was excellent and we definitely felt this added to the overall positivity of our experience. The food was also amazing and we did not have any issues with them accommodating our dietary needs. You can definitely continue to recommend those places to all your clients with full confidence.
Our guide Sanjay in Bandhavgarh was exceptional!!! His knowledge of the park, wildlife and ability to position our vehicle perfectly for photos and optimal viewing was superb. He was also delightfully engaging and highly attentive. We felt he really made our safaris special and were very grateful to have had him as our guide.
Likewise, we really enjoyed Rishi, our guide in Kaziranga and found his knowledge really beneficial to our safari experience in this amazing park.
Additionally, we did have 2 drivers that we felt were superior and worth mentioning as our rides with them were much more enjoyable so would highly recommend you continue using them for your clients. The first was our driver from Kanha to Raipur, I believe his name is Jabir. His vehicle was by far the most comfortable (including neck pillows) and clean. He was also the most interested in ensuring we had a good experience and simply a joy to spend several hours in car with. The second was our driver for Agra, Santosh. He was an excellent driver also, very gracious and went above and beyond to ensure we were well taken care of. Having him for that trip really made the end of our journey that much better!
From a wildlife perspective I was very pleased to see 16 individual tigers (13 I would consider great sightings) and I didn’t even bother counting the rhinos as they almost seemed plentiful. We saw 18 mammals and 106 birds so truly terrific. The wildlife viewing in Kanha was the only “low” point as we really didn’t see much there.
Lastly, I would be remiss if I did not thank you for putting together a wonderful itinerary, being highly responsive in our communications and clearly working with top-notch professionals across the board. I will definitely recommend Nature Safari India and hope maybe one day I will return for another tailor made adventure by you.

Sharad, we are now in Karaikudi enjoying the ambience of The Bangala Emphasis is mostly on catching up with sleep and trying not to overeat which is difficult at this establishment Sunday was a long day, we finally got to our Chennai hotel at 10pm and then were up for breakfast at 6 before flying to Madurai landing at 11 on Monday Thank you for the superb organisation of our tiger park adventure Sightings were frequent in Bandhavgarh, so Marian & Helen realised why I enjoy the experience. Raghu still makes every sighting a good one, and he was a master at using Helen’s camera to get excellent videos. And the food at Kings Lodge was in our opinion “the best in India”.
And onto Kanha, I was given the Tiger Room at Singinawa so that was special. Sanjay summed up our needs well, we were driven all over the park. We only had the one sighting, but when it was in the open meadows driving alongside male T121 roaring at T27 and the consequential schemozzle amongst the jeeps trying to keep their clients happy, it was an incredible experience I hope I will be able to revisit again soon.

As discussed, here are a few photos that I’ve had time to dehaze a bit with all the dust that was in the air.
I’ll be sending a few photos of Tigers from Tadoba and a fairly nice rooster from the Kanha NP. Feel free to post them on my behalf.
We also had some great photos of other Tigers and Wild Dogs and they might be good enough to post as they are. I will get thru them all in the next few weeks as we prepare for our next trip.

Hello Friends (new and old),
Can’t believe I had been home for ten days from an incredible wildlife trip to India. The main focus was snow leopard and tigers (30 were seen). I did see both and many more. There were many surreal encounters. My pictures might not capture the moments but the memories live on. My greatest surprise is how good birding was in India. I am still dealing with a backlog of trips due to the pandemic. Hence I am heading back to Nepal on March 26. Need to switch gear and prepare for the trip. I hope these pictures will whet your appetite till I come back and go through the remainder of the pictures.

INDIA 2022 – NATURE SAFARI INDIA
My wife and I are well-travelled wildlife conservationists and photographers. We have travelled around the world to satisfy our passion. South America and Africa are amongst our favourites, but India is way at the top of our list for repeats. 7 times spread over 14 years says it all really as each time we plan it with Nature Safari India. Sharad Vats, the director, is completely tiger barmy…I am sure he will forgive me for saying so. Also a first class photographer….see the website, and he has an encyclopaedic knowledge of all things wild. His team have been trained to provide the best service possible, from detailed planning, execution and follow-up.
Deepkul is a great example of a young manager totally immersed in the job of providing that first class service. Our last trip in November /December 2022 was testament to this. It took a long time to plan a 3 week wildlife trip covering 6 different national parks, 6 internal flights and 3 Indian states. All the lodges were well considered, and the logistics worked like clockwork. We had decided to look for rarer animals this time plus a return to our favourite tiger locations for the final week. It was, as always, a successful venture in all respects, with some wonderful photographic memories. Being in the right place at the right time is the photographers’ maxim, but we are sure Sharad Vats had sprinkled some of his fabled stardust of good fortune on us to ensure it all worked to perfection. No one else has it. Whether it is tigers or temples, or any combination of, rest assured you will get no better service.

Amazing 15 day wildlife tour in India
My family just completed a 15-day Tiger and Rhino Tour with Nature Safari India and it was perfect. We visited 4 parks, 3 in central India (Satpura, Pench and Todoba) and 1 in the northeast (Kaziranga).

Gorgeous tour of India

Amazing Wildlife Trip with Tiger Safari India
A friend and I just completed a 24 day trip to India with the primary purpose of visiting 5 Tiger Parks and to see The Taj Mahal. We worked with an amazing professional and company owner, Sharad Vats.. He planned our itinerary complete with Park passes, accommodations, an airline flight, Naturalist Guide selections, and vehicle transfers between destinations, This was a flawless trip and we could not rave highly enough about the expertise of this company. We were booked into an assortment of Park, Treehouse, Luxury tent, cottage, and hotel rooms and the food and service of each was excellent. Sharad and his Staff kept in touch with us as we moved from Park to Park to ensure we were happy and safe.

Amazing 19-days Wildlife & Taj Mahal Tour
2 years ago our planned tour with Nature Safari India was cancelled for known reasons.
2 years we stayed in contact with Deepkul and Sharad by email and finally in April 2022 we could leave for our first experience in India.
It became an unforgettable adventure, we visited 4 National Parcs, Pench, Kanha, Bandhavgarh and Panna. In each we saw tigers, 20 in total on 15 safari’s.
Besides we saw leopard, wild elephant,gaur, sloth bear, deer and a wide range of beautiful birds and other wildlife, a paradise for a nature photographer.
Deepkul organised the tour for us perfectly, the naturalists, the drivers, the lodges…all was arranged faultless.
On arrival in Delhi our baggage was delayed and Deepkul arranged that our bags were delivered 3 days later in Pench…
On our way back to Delhi we visited Khajuraho, Orchha and Agra, the temples are impressing and the view of the Taj Mahal by sunset is breathtaking.
We enjoyed very much the whole tour and are planning already for going back to India next year.

The best of the best
I have used Nature Safari India 2 times in the past, and had booked a trip for the family for april 2020. Arrival was 2 days after India closed the borders, so no chance of going. Sharad quickly wrote me, that he would try to keep all our money safe, as they were already payed to hotels ect. He kept his promise, and plans were made for april 22. Finally it was time to go and everything went super smooth as planned. The level of service this company provide is top level. There has not been a second on our 3 trips, where we have had the feeling, that things were out of control or so. Nature Safari India has always managed to get excellent drivers for us, which is reflected in the numbers of tigers and other wildlife we have seen. On the last trip we had a total of 16 drives, and saw 18 different individual tigers. To top that up, we saw jackals, loads of bird and a leopard.
I would highly recommend this company to everyone, and it is not last time i use them for sure.

The Utimate Tiger Safari Tour Company
Sharad Vats and his amazing company arranged our life long, dream fulfilling tiger photography trip which we just completed last week. My husband who is 88 was so disappointed when we were forced to cancel this trip twice due to covid. Sharad Vats offered refunds but encouraged us to not give up our quest. We followed the advice and were rewarded with a seamless and unforgettable safari experience that exceeded all expectations. We have traveled on safari to Africa multiple times and this company stands above the other companies we have used in the past. The communication while on safari was beyond amazing. When the Gypsy safari vehicle was unusable for my husband due to spinal problems a quick e-mail and and fast response produced another vehicle with suspension that saved our entire safari from disaster. The drivers/naturalist selected for us had extensive knowledge and photography experience Each destination driver was professional and caring. Abhishek, an associate of Tiger Safari greeted us on arrival made us feel welcome and secure. The entire trip was a complete success because of the precise planning and first hand knowledge of Shard Vats and his experienced team at Tiger Safari India. Sharad Vats Ceo is himself a renowned Naturalist and tiger photographer who has extensive first had knowledge of each national Park in India. Not only is this company an excellent choice for India trip planning but also a great ambassador for the conservation efforts for the tiger.

Outstanding service
Sharad and team excel at creating a custom itinerary with smooth hand-offs to guides/drivers/lodges at every stop. We originally had 2 weeks scheduled with Tiger Safari India, but then expanded to 4 weeks when another travel outfit cancelled because of Covid. Sharad was willing to wait it out with us and India reopened for tourists about a week before our trip started. Before the trip, Sharad was patient and timely on email and zoom calls to finalize all the details which included 5 major cities (Delhi, Jaipur, Agra, Varanasi, Kolkata) and 3 national parks (Kanha, Bandhavgarh, Kazaringa). This involved multiple drivers, domestic flights, and hotel/lodge changes (the longest stay was 3 nights in any location). But at each location we were welcomed by excellent guides and drivers. India is bustling and chaotic, especially the cities roads, which at first was a white-knuckle experience for us. So having welcoming guides and skillful drivers was key to our enjoyment of the trip. If you are planning an adventure to India, then I would highly recommend using Tiger Safari.

Bandhavgarh/Kaziranga/Agra Tour
We did a 10 days tour visiting Bandhavgarh and Kaziranga National Park as well as Agra. We originally wanted to go in 2020 but had to postpone until 2022 due to the Covid pandemic. The trip was amazing and exceeded our expectations by far! On 11 safaris we saw 19 tigers, countless rhinos, elephants including a new born as well as so many other kinds of animals. The lodges and hotel were great, the hospitality was amazing and the food delicious. The tour guides were excellent and had great knowledge and experience. Furthermore, they took into account to all our wishes during the drives.
The whole tour was organzied by Deepkul and his colleagues from Nature Safari India perfectly from the beginning until the end! Only a few hours after contacting and giving a rough plan what we had in mind, we received a full itinerary reflecting our suggestions. Any additional wishes from our side were considered to our fullest satisfaction. Also, when we had some technical problems with the money transfer from Germany to India every possible assistance was provided. Due to to the Covid pandemic, we had to make four attempts to find a time frame in which it was possible to travel from Germany to India until it finally worked out. In each case Deepkul arranged everything on short notice.
Additional charges were made to a minimum extent, e.g. as park fees had been increased. It was possible to keep the hotel/lodge rates for a time for over two years (and would also have been possible for a period thereafter)!
When another friend of us decided to join us on our trip only a month before going, this was no problem and arranged perfectly. All communication was fast and smoothly. When one of us had trouble flying to India (various flight cancellations and delays), Deepkul was there 24/7 to assist us in any way and find the best solution for the situation which he did!
Nature Safari India can be recommended to the fullest extent! Thank you so much for the wonderful experience!

Amazing experience
Took 2 solo custom safaris with Tiger Safaris in Mar2022. 4 days in Kanha and 4 days in Bandavgargh.
I could not have asked for better experiences. Having been on 10+ safaris in 5 countries in Africa previously, I had high expectations. And they did not disappoint.
Seeing a tiger in the wild was high on my bucket list. And Sharad’s guides (Narain and Sanjay – more on them later) were fantastic in making sure I saw several. From mere feet away.
Trip was very well planned – to maximize safari time. And the stays were in great resorts, close to the safari gates – so we didn’t waste time every day driving to the safari gates. And his drivers worked with the hotels to make sure all breakfasts were packed and loaded each morning.
Jeeps were comfortable (if a little small).
On the ground execution was flawless – from airport pickups to daily drives to driving between parks. All done with polite drivers willing to go the extra mile – stop whenever I wanted it, help buying me an Indian SIM, finding the kinds of food I wanted to eat. And speaking very good English. Special shoutout to Durgesh – who drive me from Raipur to Kanha, and then Kanha to Bandhavgarth.
In Kanha – my guide/driver Narain was great. Made sure we were perfectly positioned on several occasions to have a full-frontal view of a tiger walking towards us. And he took the time to explain what we has listening/looking for: alarm calls, pug marks. And he had an encyclopedic knowledge of birds. Thanks Narain for an amazing experience.
In Bandhavgarh – Sanjay, my driver and guide was just as good. Getting a good view of tigers in the dense brush, I discovered, is as much luck (right time, right place) as good tracking. And I had both here. He made sure I got some amazing views of tigers up close.
Sharad (the owner) runs a great company. He is understanding and flexible. Checks in almost daily to make sure everything is going well. And his drivers/guides are wonderful.
Thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Can’t wait to go back and do more with this company.

A Grand Adventure
This trip was a wonderful experience, partly because India is fascinating, culturally challenging, physically both ugly and beautiful and because Sharad, with his able assistant Abhishek, made it absolutely stress free. With the help of his network of people all over India, we were met us at every airport to transfer us to our hotel, guided expertly through the National Parks and in the cities we visited and driven expertly through streets crowded with traffic, speed bumps, pot holes and cows. The parks we visited were Kanha, Bandvangarh and Kazaringa. All uniquely different and teaming with wildlife. Although we had only two tiger sightings, one very brief, the other wildlife and birds made up for that. And the lodges at the National Parks are so unique and comfortable, good food, beautiful settings and more than attentive staff. We also did several days of culture outings, seeing the Gandhi Museum, the Taj Mahal, the Red Fort and many beautiful tombs, temples. We visited Varanasi, the place where Hindus travel to wash in the sacred river, the Ganges and cremate their deceased loved ones. We were even invited to celebrate the Holi Festival at the home of one of the agents that met the flight. That was the highlight of the trip… the people are warm, welcoming and delighted to meet foreigners.
All this would not have been possible without Sharad and his team all over India. Even though it is, crowded, noisy and there is the fear of getting a little sick from the change of diet, none of those factors got in the way. And it’s also a bargain, no where have I had everything literally organized and taken care of so all I had to do was show up in the hotel lobby or the safari parking lot and my whole day way taken care of! I can’t recommend Nature Safaris enough!
