Taj Mahua Kothi

Bandhavgarh National Park

About Taj Mahua Kothi

The Mahua tree, which is cherished and venerated in the region, inspired the name of the Mahua Kothi, or residence. Our jungle safari resort in Bandhavgarh National Park features 12 luxury cottages set in a 45-acre private woodland on the national park’s outskirts. The guest area looks out over a huge grassland, which is frequented by monkeys and colourful birds. The mud cottages, known as ‘Kutiyas,’ are constructed in the native architectural style.

A bean-shaped pool shaded by Mahua trees and screened by a bamboo thicket is ideal for cooling off in the middle of the day. A big brick building with long verandas overlooks a meadow surrounded by a woodland patch houses the guest areas. A big fireplace in the dining hall keeps guests warm on frigid winter evenings. Guests enjoy gathering fresh veggies and fruit for a salad from the lodge’s private organic gardens. A special menu of treatments provided by skilled in-house masseurs is the ideal way to end a safari vacation.
