Interestingly, you can also combine wildlife safaris with cultural destinations such as the Taj Mahal and Varanasi. And last but not least India is the only destination in the world to see some of the charismatic species of animals and birds.

Most travelers fly to Mumbai or New Delhi International Airport as their entry point to India, depending on their onward journey or itinerary. When is the best time to plan my trip?
For wildlife safaris in India, each month has its own charm but the best time considering sightings and weather perspective is from November to March. This is the ideal time for foreign nationals especially. It is also highly advisable that for busy dates like Christmas, new year and Easter the booking should be in advance, very good if it is a year before. Summer in India starts in April and lasts until June. Summers are very hot, but they give animals, especially tigers, more reasons to visit waterholes, making tiger sightings almost guaranteed during this season. The monsoon begins in July, which is when India’s tourism season slows down. The wildlife season and overall tourist season resumes in October with the reopening of wildlife parks, and the peak season begins in November and lasts till March.
