Tiger of Terai and Taj Tour

10 Nights / 11 Days

Journey Highlights & Overview

A journey across North India’s wilderness reveals an extraordinary blend of iconic wildlife and timeless heritage. In Jim Corbett National Park, set against the dramatic Himalayan foothills, sweeping grasslands and riverine forests create prime habitat for the majestic Bengal tiger, herds of Asian elephant, and, in the higher elevations, the secretive Himalayan black bear. Every safari here unfolds amid breathtaking scenery, rich birdlife, and the palpable thrill of true tiger country.

Further east, the Terai wilderness of Dudhwa National Park protects expansive swamps and tall grasslands that shelter rare and endangered species. Strongholds of the impressive greater one-horned rhinoceros and the elegant swamp deer thrive in this remote landscape, sharing their domain with formidable predators and an astonishing array of birdlife. The park’s pristine, less-travelled character makes each encounter feel exclusive and deeply immersive.

Balancing these wild experiences is a visit to the architectural masterpiece of the Taj Mahal, where white marble poetry and centuries of history provide a striking contrast to the raw beauty of the jungle. Together, these destinations craft an unforgettable passage through India’s natural grandeur and cultural splendour.

The wildlife thrives in Lakhimpur and Kheri District of Uttar Pradesh.  The Lifeline of this forest is river Mohana Khola which criss-crosses in Nepal and India. Nature does not understand human borders and provides shelter to its wildlife beings without any boundaries. Little less known fact is the presence of River Dolphins post monsoon season.

Yes, jeeps are safe for a tiger safari in India. The only point of understanding is that the jeep and its occupants must at all times maintain a safe distance from the wildlife around. If you hinder their space or peace, they might not like it and in turn leave the area. Always remember that you are in their territory and it is only basic courtesy to not disturb them. Do not get off your safari vehicle to click photos, do not feed them, and do not ask the driver/guide/naturalist to speed up to chase wildlife around. These are basic rules and any form of disobedience is strictly punishable.

The temperature in Indian jungles experiences fluctuations throughout the day.
