Our seventh holiday trip with nature Safari India and it will not be the last! We first booked with nature Safari India in 2010. Since then we have been back so many times and this year, 2024, was our seventh trip. There were 3 Covid years when no one could travel otherwise it would have been more. Every trip is planned meticulously with input from us on dates, lodges, parks. We end up with a trip that works like clockwork. From the moment we arrive at Delhi airport and are met by either Deepkul or Abhishek we know we are in safe hands. Off we go to the Holiday Inn which we really like for an overnight stay and a meal in the Italian Restaurant there and then an early flight in the morning and our adventure starts. This time we sated ourselves with visiting four of our favourite National Parks and did we see tigers? Yes we did plus wild dogs, leopards and so much more. Even a sloth bear sighting too. We are looked after so well and nothing is left to chance. From the moment we land till we wave goodbye to come home we are so well looked after and if we need to contact NSI then they are only a mobile call away which is reassuring. We are from the UK and have recommended this company to so many people. Indeed this year the family of one of our oldest friends came with their young children and NSI looked after them so well. We also usually are fortunate to meet Sharad Vats who is now a personal friend who owns the company and spend some time with him. His photos are amazing as you will see on the website plus some from guests like us. If you want to visit India then NSI is the company to use. They will add cultural visits in as well and we had an amazing trip in 2023 to Gujarat to see wild asses, striped hyenas and wolves before flying down to see our beloved tigers.

Like an African safari experience...but less expensive In 2019 when my wildlife photographer husband told me he booked a trip back to India, I was not excited. Although our first experience was interesting, it had no "vacation" aspects. He promised this trip would be different. No one would describe me as a princess but certainly there are little things to make an expedition different than a vacation. Thanks to Nature Safaris India, this trip gave me a whole different feeling about traveling to India and why I can easily recommend it to others--if you book it with an operator like this one. Our trip was scheduled for late March 2020 and luckily borders closed before we began our trip. Booking with an Indian-based company, I never thought our prepaid trip would be honored---let alone all the way until 2024 (due to visa issues). NSI kept in regular touch with us, were flexible and accommodating at every level. Their recommendations both for wildlife and lodging were perfect. Granted, this trip was booked at more expensive places than our prior trip but well worth it--the bit of higher level equated to accommodations with amenities like views, decks/balconies, even a pool, far better service, superb food, AND better guides, vehicles and drivers. Having Deepkul of NSI available on WhatsApp was an added bonus to reassure things like the lodge office will be printing your boarding pass for your next flight. It was nice to see that more than 50% of the 'tourists' at the park were people from India--understanding that appreciation from within will ensure longer term conservation efforts. The foreign tourists we met were all well-traveled and most had done safaris elsewhere. Although every destination has its own experiences, the itinerary set up for us by NSI felt more like an African safari experience (but less expensive) --a) meaning the lodges were set up in ways to experience the natural surroundings whether you were on safari or chilling on your deck. b) the level of service was superb yet subtle c) the food was delicious, plentiful and a great variety each day. We did 4 different destinations within India over about 2 weeks--3-4 nights in each lodge. Each experience was wonderfully unique. Travelers need to have "it's about the journey" attitude to experience India's wildlife as extended drives and additional flights are part of the plan--but NSI makes it all comfortable and seamless.

Bucket List To India ! Feb ‘24 What an amazing and memorable holiday we had with Nature Safari India . As 2 girls travelling for the first time to India, we were a bit apprehensive about safety and logistics. However, on arrival Siddharth met us and looked after us from then until 22 days later when he waved us goodbye! The whole trip ran like clockwork from when we made the booking and Sharad tailored our itinerary to our specifications, in spite of several additions from us! From then our flights, transport, guides and hotels all happened so smoothly and efficiently. We especially want to thank Siddharth who went above and beyond his job description and was an amazing “sorter outerer” ( as well as being a dapper dresser!) All of our wonderful drivers, especially Ashok - who, in an informative and entertaining way, drove us around the Golden Triangle. Manesh, for being a fabulous guide in Kanha where we had amazing tiger viewings. His knowledge of the game we saw was incredible and he was amazing fun to be with. John, our guide in the Punjab, who gave us, as well as the usual tourist sights, a tailor made gastronomic tour of culinary delights. (Best food in India!) If you want to get the best out of your trip to India, Nature Safari India will ensure you do! Ali & Hils

Was tailored to our need. Was on a golden triangle and safari tour with Nature Safari India and highly recommend this company. The planning process and recommendations were individualized to our liking. Each step of the way was well executed, and the staff affiliated with Nature Safari, India is highly specialized and professional. We spent the few days in New Delhi with Parveen as a driver and guide and couldn’t recommend him more. He had great knowledge and was very professional. Also, at each safari destination, we were assigned drivers that were as good as our tour guides from the national forest service. Sunjay in Kahna and Atul in Bandhavgarh were is super specialized and personable. All aspects of this tour went well, and I highly recommend them.

Fantastic Service Enjoyed a wonderful holiday arranged by Nature Safaris. Fantastic service from start to finish. We were extremely well looked after from the start as Protim met us from our international flight at Delhi. The whole trip ran smoothly and the transfers were very comfortable. All the team involved in our holiday deserve a big “thank you” and we would certainly use this company again. Bandhavgarh National Park is beautiful and although we struggled to see the elusive Tiger close up, we did have 4 sightings across 8 drives. I know other groups had a bit more luck than us so we will return one day.

Experience of a lifetime with Nature Sarari India! If you want to visit India don't look any further than Nature Safari India! From start to finish this company goes beyond anything that you would expect. Their website is great at showing you what they do and what you can expect. Their communication is unbelievable. No email went unanswered, no question felt like an imposition. I often felt that I was their only client even though I know they are working with many! Their attention to detail is impeccable and no request is too big or too small. Once in India the service didn't stop! Everyone was professional and friendly and someone was always available to help which is even more important as a solo traveler. The places I stayed were better than I had hoped for and the staff at each place were helpful and accommodating. And then the game drives! All I can say is WOW! The Naturalists/Guides that I had seemed to know their parks -- and their tigers -- personally! I had hoped to see a tiger or two but almost every day brought another sighting and another adventure. Do yourself a favor. If you're thinking about a tiger safari, and even if you're not, start by checking out Nature Safari India!

Thank you making India trip such a memorable tour This has been our first time visiting India and thanks to "Nature Safari India" it will not be the last time! This company operates very professionally and from the first contact until we left India we have been accompanied by them. After arrival at Delhi Airport their representatives picked us up and dropped for the stay-over at the hotel, managed the check-in. Next exactly at the appointment time we have been picked up by the driver ... and so on. Even on our tour end we have been picked up by them and guided from domestic to international terminal India. Everything has been very professional!

Excellent 4th Trip with Nature Safari This is the 4th time we have travelled with Nature Safari as a couple with an individual program agreed together for our wants and needs. The team headed by Shared Vats are very professional, quick to reply and when things do not go quite right ( beyond their planning) are quick to respond and rectify the matter. We loved every minute in India as a result and with their excellent guides and safari drivers we had yet another memorable tour starting from Jaipur to Bandhavgarh, with special mention to Sanjay Gupta our driver guide in Bandhavgarh, who always seemed to get us in the right place at the right time. His knowledge of not only the Tigers, but everything the beautiful Indian forest beholds. What more can I say about this company. Already planning next year’s trip. Cheers Monica & Ken Winstanley

Detailed Itinerary for Just Tigers Tour of India

On arrival at the New Delhi airport, you will be received by our representative. He will transfer and assist you with your check in at the hotel. He will also brief you on the travel related documents. Overnight stay is at the hotel.

After breakfast transfer to the airport to board a flight at 0935-hour to arrive Nagpur at 1115hrs. Met at the airport and drive to Pench National Park 100 kms / 2-hour drive. On arrival check into the Lodge. Post lunch afternoon jeep safari. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.

Morning and afternoon Jeep safari to the National park. Meals and overnight at the lodge.

A total of 758 Sq. kms of this Southern Indian tropical moist deciduous forest has its extent mingling with the tropical dry deciduous teak. The area is crisscrossed by a number of streams and ‘nallahs’ most of which are seasonal. Though the Pench River dries up in April end, a number of water pools locally known as ‘dohs’ are found which serve as water holes for the wild animals. The Pench Reservoir at the center of the park is the only major water source during the pinch period.

As a prey concentration is high along the Pench River, tiger usually inhabits and frequents this belt. Leopards though generally operate in the peripheral areas but are occasionally seen in the deep forest also. Jungle cats are commonly seen. Leopard cats, small Indian civets and palm civets are seen rarely. In Pench, Cheetal, Sambar, are commonly seen grazing on the open sites on roadsides and banks of river & reservoir. Jackals can be seen in search of food anywhere in the Park. Packs of upto 15 or more wild dog can be seen near Chhedia, Jamtara, Bodanala and Pyorthadi areas of the Reserve. Herds of gaur can be spotted near streams and bamboo patches commonly in summer months. Sloth beer occupy the rocky areas and favour mahul bel infested forest. Chinkara is present in very small numbers and is found in open areas around Turia, Telia and Dudhgaon villages. Dinner and overnight stay at Pench.

Morning and afternoon Jeep safari to the National park. All Meals and overnight at the lodge.

Morning Jeep safari to the National park. After lunch drive to Kanha national park 210 kms/ 4-5-hour drive. On arrival check into the Lodge. Dinner and overnight at the lodge in Kanha.

Kanha is tribal country, and a perfect example of man-animal co-existence. This was the first park from when a village was moved out from the core area of the forest and relocated outside. Subsequently, many other villages were shifted out to give more inviolate space to the tigers. The graceful tribals accepted the generous compensation packages thus creating a haven for tigers in Kanha and it became a win-win situation for tribals and tigers both. Dinner and overnight stay at the resort.

Wake up at 0500hrs, tea coffee with biscuits, and proceed for the morning safari to the National Park.

Kanha’s sal and bamboo forests, rolling grasslands and meandering streams stretch over 940 sq km in dramatic natural splendor which form the core of the Kanha Tiger Reserve created in 1974 under Project Tiger. The park is the only habitat of the rare hardground Barasingha (Cervus Duvaceli Branderi). Tigers of Kanha are known to walk on vehicle tracks. If you are fortunate, you will have a head on sighting of tigers here. Once they get on the track, they will walk for long enough to give you ample opportunities to take some nice images of them. Kanha tigers are known for their exceptional head size, neck girth, and tall at shoulders. They are also quite bold and undeterred by the tourist vehicles.

This is the original Kipling country of which he wrote so vividly in his Jungle Book. Packed breakfast which comes from the Lodge is served at a designated spot and spread on the bonnet of the Safari vehicle. Enjoy your breakfast in the wilderness of Kanha. Continue your search for the elusive Tiger if you have not yet seen the same, and soak in the fresh, and energizing environment. Return from Safari around 1130hrs. Freshen up, and Lunch is served.

Depart for afternoon jeep safari Kanha National Park. Return at 6pm from safari. Dinner and overnight at the Lodge.

Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner at the Resort. Morning and afternoon jeep safari to the national park.   Overnight stay at the resort.

Kanha is a flagship national park of India when it comes to successful conservation stories. Hard Ground Barasingha was brought back from the brink of extinction in this very park. The number in 80s were just 60, today they are over 800 roaming freely in the park. Kanha has also assisted in repopulating the Indian Gaur population in Bandhavgarh where they were last seen in 1997. Today over 300 Indian Gaur are present in Bandhavgarh.

Morning Jeep safari to the National park. After lunch drive to Bandhavgarh National Park, 280kms, 6-hour drive. On arrival check into the Lodge. Dinner and overnight at the Lodge.

Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner at the Resort. Morning and afternoon Jeep safari to the national park.

Bandhavgarh: The national park is mainly known for the density of its tiger population. This is the place where famous White Tigers of Rewa were discovered. The other wild attractions in the park include Leopards, Blue Bulls, Indian Gaur (Bison) Chausingha (Four Horned Antelopes), Spotted Deers, Sambar Deer, Wild Boar, Sloth Bears Fox, Jackals, Wild Dogs, etc. There are at least 22 mammal species and about 250 bird species in the Park. The other animals found in Bandhavgarh are Ratel, Porcupine, Small Indian Civet, Palm Squirrel, Lesser Bandicoot rat, the Jungle Cat, and the shy Hyenas. The reptile population in the park includes Cobras, Kraits, Vipers, Ratsnakes, Pythons, Monitor Lizards and turtles. The two-primate species – the rhesus macaque and the Hanuman langur – inhabit Bandhavgarh. Dinner and overnight at the Resort.

Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner at the Resort. Morning & afternoon jeep safari to the national park.

Bandhavgarh has been a center of human activity and settlement for over 2000 years, and there are references to it in the ancient books, the Narad-Panch Ratra and the Shiva Purana.

The oldest sign of habitation in the park are caves dug into the sandstone to the north of the fort. Several contain Brahmi inscriptions dating from the 1st century B.C. Various dynasties have ruled the fort, for example, the Maghas from the 1st century A.D., the Vakatakas from the 3rd century A.D., From that time onwards Bandhavgarh was ruled by a succession of dynasties including the Chandela Kings Bandhavgarh became more and more deserted until forest overran the area band it became the royal hunting reserve.

This helped to preserve the forest and its wildlife, although the Maharajas made full use of their rights. At independence Bandhavgarh remained the private property of the Maharaja until he gave it to the state for the formation of the National Park in 1968. After the park was created poaching and hunting was brought under control and the number of animals rose dramatically. The Tigers in particular prospered and the 1986 extension provided much needed forest to accommodate them. Overnight at the resort.

Morning jeep safari to national park until 10 AM. Return to lodge and after quick lunch drive to Jabalpur airport 200 kms /4hrs drive to board a flight at 1540 hrs., arriving in New Delhi at 1715 hrs. On arrival, our representative will be waiting for you at the Airport to transfer you in Toyota Innova/Crysta, to your hotel. He will further assist you with a smooth check in. Overnight stay at the hotel in New Delhi.

Leisure time in New Delhi.

After breakfast transfer to International airport to board flight back home or onward destinations.

Hello Sharad, it is so good to hear that you & your family are all well. The same is true for us. We really enjoyed our snow leopard trip. Deepkul was a terrific guide. All the others did fine jobs as well. Of course, we would like to have seen the snow leopard closer but that is nature. We have no control but we were happy to just see one in the wild. Take care, Chris

Amazing trip with Sanjay into Bhandavgarh. I had an amazing time in Bandhavgarh National Park. The safari company was incredibly accommodating and Ishana was very helpful. My driver, Sanjay, was absolutely phenomenal. Always on time and, as a fellow bird enthusiast, always on the lookout and ready to stop at a moments notice for every bird. The tiger sightings were a dream come true and rhe sheer volume of animals in the park was incredible. Definitely recommend using this company. And highly recommend requesting Sanjay if you are visiting Bandhavgarh.

I came to India for a business trip and spontaneously decided to do a tiger safari over the weekend. The Tiger Safari India team immediately came back to me with different great options and organized the 4-day tour to Ranthambhore national park directly for the upcoming weekend. The whole tour was very well organized - great driver, good hotel, very experienced safari tour guides - and I felt very comfortable during the whole journey. I definitely recommend to visit the Ranthambore national park. Within 4 safari tours I spotted 5 tigers and could enjoy the beautiful flora and fauna. Thank you very much Tiger Safari Team for this amazing tour and experience!!!

Truly magical tree house and safari in Bhandavgarh Awesome holiday! We wanted to do something unique for our daughters 18th birthday. Deepkul was extremely helpful in planning a perfect trip. The best part was the unique tree house and bush dinner that simply turned out to be truly magical. Sanjay safari guide was excellent, prompt and knowledgeable and pulled out his little book promptly to share more details on the wildlife we saw. He brought in Manjith as our guide on the last day who was also extremely experienced. We spotted the entire family- Tigress and her playful 4 cubs. A magnificient experience. Also timely and safe travel by Gulab in Jabalpur. I am really thankful to Deepkul for the well planned holiday, memories that will be forever cherished.

Fantastic experience with Nature Safari. Sharad Vat was extremely helpful in discussing the different parks with us and advising the one which best fitted the experience we were looking for -non commercial and a private tour as a family of four with two kids aged 10. From the moment we booked, we had a seamless experience. The lodge they put us up in (Saccharum Safari Lodge) was just perfect! We were spoilt with fabulous food by chef Akshandra and the whole team who looked after us, created dinners under the stars and assisted us with anything we required. We couldn’t give the lodge a high enough review and encourage any visitors to Kanha to enjoy the sincere hospitality offered by Wasin and his team. Naren Malik was our naturalist and the ranger. We didn’t just have incredible tiger interactions, but got to watch our guide on multiple occasions find the tigers through alarm calls and ensure we had prime position to get great photographs. An altogether phenomenal family experience with our A Team!

FAULTLESS SERVICE From the very start of communicating with Sharad I knew I'd found a gem. Our trip delivered so well! The organisation was faultless, our drivers and guides were professional yet friendly. The suggested lodges were superb. We were lucky to see tigers on most of our drives and were kept well entertained by the exotic birds and abundant general wildlife. Thanks Tiger Safaris for a great tip.

My wife Bonnie and I visited Kanha and Bandhavgarh parks this April. I've got to say everything went totally smoothly. Everyone was extremely nice and incredibly knowledgeable. Especially the safari guides/drivers. Finding tiger prints, listening for alarm calls from other animals and finally finding the tigers. I was concerned we'd go all that way and not see a tiger. Well, Shard expressed that April is an excellent time to visit with the underbrush at a minimum. We had 10+ tiger sightings and even were lucky enough to see 4 leopards. We can't recommend Tiger Safari India enough. Thanks Ishana and Sharad!

We did a tour of Bandhavgarh National Park over three and a half days with Sanjay Gupta, of Nature Safari, staying at the Baghtola camp. Sanjay was a very dedicated guide, but also knowledgeable and good company. We had nice sightings of tigers, but also saw a sloth bear, many species of deer and antelopes, langurs and macaques, and lots of birds. The Baghtola camp was very comfortable, offering spacious accommodations and abundant, delicious food. A passionate young herpetologist and guide there, Yash Mane, gave us many insights into the fauna and many other aspects of the park.
